SDISC Fall Seminar 2017 – September 7th & 8th

Dear Colleagues:

You and your staff are cordially invited to the Fall Seminar of the Summit Dental Implant Study Club, September 7th, 2017- Thursday 5:15pm at the Hilton Denver Inverness.

The aesthetic expectations of patients are ever increasing and continually challenge our profession. Accordingly, we need to be prepared to manage additional hard and soft tissue considerations in order to achieve ideal prosthetic outcomes in the aesthetic zone.

Dr. Kinsel’s presentation “Restoring Dental Implants with Simplicity and Cofidence While Avoiding Complications” will address these issues.

Dr. Kinsel is an associate clinical professor in the department of preventive and restorative dental science at the University of California, San Francisco.

This course is designed for restorative dentists and their staff, along with their dental technicians, who wish to have greater predictability and success for implant supported restorations in the aesthetic zone.

Learning Objectives

  • What specific considerations must be addressed in the aesthetic zone?
  • How should provisional restorations be designed to modify and enhance gingival aesthetics?
  • Developing proper emergence profile begins and modifications of the working cast.
  • Team collaborative treatment planning- Who needs to be in the loop?
  • Avoiding dental implant complications- ‘the gifts that keep on giving.

Dr. Farthing will also be presenting on ‘Management and Treatment of Teeth with Ankylosis and Root Resorption.’ There is much discussion within our profession regarding when teeth with ankylosis and resorption should be removed. Dr. Farthing will discuss the clinical parameters which determine the appropriate timing of extraction and dental implant placement.

Learning Objectives

  • Briefly review the etiology of ankylosis and resorption.
  • What are the risks of waiting too long to take out a tooth with ankylosis/resorption in the esthetic area?
  • How can oral plastic surgery mitigate lost bone and attachment?

Please plan to arrive at 5:15pm for dinner and to register for raffle gifts!

The lecture program will begin promptly at 6pm.

You will receive 3 hours of CE for this meeting. Attendees of the Hands-On will receive an additional 2 hours of CE.
